Meet Blacky, one of 4 puppies (Bear, Mowgly and Vivi) saved by Florentina along with their mum Emma. Sadly Emma didn't survive an operation and 2 of her puppies died from Parvo leaving the lucky 4. All of the pups were hand reared.

Blacky lacks confidence generally with new people - this will take time to work on at Blacky's pace in his new home. Blacky was one of the pups who had Parvo. It took lots of love and TLC to bring him through this and he has no lasting effects of the illness. He is a healthy, happy dog who is now ready for his forever home.

Blacky is a confident dog with his sister Vivi, he is usually gets most of the toys and food. His adopters need to have experience of owning a similar dog and being able to demonstrate appropriate methods for teaching boundaries and basic commands. Strictly no alpha dominance required here.

Blacky could be rehomed with another dog, who is very calm but confident. Alternatively Blacky could adapt to being an only dog with someone who is around for a large part of the day to offer supervision, playtime and exercises to keep his mind occupied each day. Appropriate space must be available in the home due to his possessiveness around food and at times toys if joining a home with another dog. He may always need space and to be seperated when eating and around treats.

Blacky is a lovely dog who needs a little moulding to become a more rounded dog. His required training should help with this, however he may need further work over and above this so his adopters should be fully aware and able to offer this should he need it.

We are sure that Blacky will settle well into a home environment with some time and guidance - he will require work on toilet training and also walking on a harness and lead. We do not anticipate this causing any issues as Blacky is a very intelligent and capable dog who works well for food and affection when he knows you.

If you would like to offer Blacky his perfect forever home then please complete the adoption application and someone will contact you.
