Meet bonnie
Before looking at our dogs please have a read of our adoption process thank you.
Breed: Smaller medium sized crossbreed (around Corgi sized)
Sex: Female Age: 3 years approx (at March 2024) Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Child friendly: No Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes - see below Meet the beautiful newbie Bonnie, who joined us earlier this year. Sadly her Dad died and his family dumped her on the streets after this. She was pictured lying on the doormat of the only home she had known and we couldn’t ignore her situation, even being at full capacity so she joined us shortly after then. Bonnie adapted well into her foster home in Romania. She was very skinny and crawling with fleas so was treated for parasites and had some extra TLC once we discovered she had wounds on her neck. Thankfully her neck wound healed up quickly – we believe she may have been chained and had a collar embedded or something similar. Bonnie is an extremely timid dog from her past experiences when you first meet her. She takes a long time to warm to you and build up trust. She is very kind dog once you earn her trust and doesn't have an ounce of malice in her. She is living with a number of dogs of varying sizes, ages and temperaments, and she will need a home a resident dog to follow, one who is playful and kind to help build her confidence. We will not rehome Bonnie as an only dog under any circumstances. Bonnie's adopter will be very experienced and with a proven history of foreign rescue dogs, especially timid or fearful dogs. Bonnie is looking for someone with a home in quiet surroundings rathr than a busy town or city location. We are looking for a child free home, and one without visiting children, at least initially until Bonnie is more confident around people (there will be time limit placed on this). She really needs patient adopters with no time restrictions on building trust, and a very securely fenced garden (deally 6 foot fences) for obvious reasons. These are non negotiable for our girl. Bonnie is living with cats just now, so could live with cats again who are confident living with and being around dogs. Bonnie's energy knows no bounds just now, and she is having her second puppy hood; limitless energy, playful and a little exploration with her mouth and teeth are to be expected and anticipated.
We would prefer Bonnie to go to a home with someone who is around for the majority of each day ideally. Bonnie will not be suitable to attend doggy day care, or have a dog walker taking care of her, at least not initially, so her adopters need to be fully aware of this in advance if they do work. As with all our adopted dogs, Bonnie’s adopter will need to be mindful that her character and behaviour may change during the settling in period. Accidents are to be expected and anticipated as she settles and gets into a toileting and exercise routine, which will increase slowly over time. Bonnie has not walked on a lead and harness so her adopters will need to introduce this from day one and should anticipate a quiet slower pace with this process. Bonnie is a super smart dog who is unsurprisingly motivated by food and praise, which we hope will make her required training that bit easier. We hope that someone out there has a Bonnie sized space in their home and heart and can offer the perfect girl her perfect forever home. If you feel this is you then please complete the adoption application and someone will contact you If you would like to be a doggy sponsor then please see How You Can Help for further details. All our dogs love toys and treats and would welcome these from our Amazon Wishlist. |
